Zoe-perry

Perry was born to actor Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. On the ABC sitcom Roseanne (as shown in flashback) her mother portrayed Jackie Harris in two of Perry's first TV roles. Perry was forbidden to perform in front of her family until she reached the age of adulthood because they were afraid of the anxiety it could cause. Perry she was timid to perform in the school, began to perform at Northwestern University because she wanted to meet new people. Perry moved to New York, where she landed small roles in series such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Home sickiness brought Perry home to California, where theater jobs were available. In 2013, she was a part of The Other Place on Broadway with her mother. Perry was in the show with the father of her character Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in the year 2015 on The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. Perry played nine roles in the ABC drama The Family, in 2016. Her father played her on her role on the ABC drama Scandal. She also played her older Mary Cooper in Young Sheldon, a CBS spin-off from The Big Bang Theory. Despite having a family connection to the character she got the part through an audition.
